United by the love of music, music festivals have bought people together from round the globe for decades. They’re a place where you have the freedom to express yourself and just let loose. We’ve put together a list of a few festival we believe should definitely be a must on your bucket list.

Glastonbury Festival, Somerset, UK – 26th-30th of June

When it comes to must-go music festivals Glastonbury tops the list. Glasto has been host to some of the biggest names in music history. In terms of music preferences there is definitely something for everyone here, ranging from pop to reggae to rock to dubstep to folk. It’s hard to put into words how vast Glasto is, with whole worlds of activity taking place all around the area, every corner of Glastonbury is full of surprises just waiting to be discovered.

Splendour in the Grass, Byron Bay, AUS – July 19

A festival close to home! Thirty thousand people regularly make the trip to North Byron Highlands for three days of fine music art and camping. Australia’s answer to Glastonbury is Splendour in the Grass. As well as having a huge and diverse performance line-up, Splendour also has dance and circus workshops, art installations and a range of food and craft markets.

Woodstock50, New York, USA – 16th-18th of August

In honour of the golden birthday of this historic music festival, Woodstock is back a bigger than ever. This festival is not one to miss for any music lover. This year’s line-up includes mega artists such as, Jay-Z, The Killers, Imagine Dragons, Miley Cyrus and Cage the Elephant just to name a few. While also hosting these current pop artists, Woodstock 50 will include performances by several musical acts who performed at the original Woodstock in 1969. This three-day festival has been described as a “pan-generational music, culture and community event”, truly a festival catering to anyone.

Burning Man, Nevada, USA – 25th-2nd of August/September

While not technically a “music festival” per se…Burning Man is easily one of the most epic and potentially life-changing annual events that happens in the U.S.  It’s also probably the hardest festival on this list to obtain tickets to attend, but if you get the chance definitely swipe them up!

Outlook Festival Croatia – 4th-9th of September

If you love a good beat, whether that’s a two-step, four-to-four or breakbeat, then Outlook is the festival for you. There is a party around every corner, all-day and all-night. Not to mention the location is a stunning bit of history, a 2,000 year old Roman amphitheatre and an abandoned fortress. Also, the boat and beach parties are an absolute must!
